DREAMS ARE DESIRES OF... COMFORT The Savoia Hotel Regency represents a truly unique hotel in the city of Bologna, drawing inspiration
from an eighteenth-century country residence whose imposing façade is surrounded
by vast green areas.
The original plan dates back to 2002 when Savoia Hotels realized that the Savoia
Hotel Country House 's capacity was no longer enough to accommodate its regular
guests and that the neighboring field with a deserted farmhouse on it was the
ideal building site for a new hotel to meet the requirements of the growing clientèle.
By taking over that field, the Trombetti family seized the economic opportunity
to expand its business as well to contribute to carry out land reclamation works
in the neighborhood. The installation of underground high-voltage electric lines
, previously overhead wires with negative impact on public health and environment,
cannot be underestimated.
Among different plans and guidelines in the end a completely offbeat idea prevailed:
an eighteenth-century-style villa to give the guests a feeling of affluence and
class, deliberately untrendy in comparison with the present-day multi-storey and
reinforced concrete hotels often cold and soon obsolete.
The selected materials are all related to that era, Venetian flooring, crystal
chandeliers, precious fabrics. The elegantly appointed wide spaces are aimed at
richness and style, still they do not lack in sobriety.
Nothing is left to chance, the large entrance marquee lets the guests in the
majestic hall and behind it, the courtyard with swimming pool. In the background
the landscape garden, two hectares of parkland reviving glorious bygone times
that our guests more and more long for.
The Garganelli restaurant, named after the renowned city centre restaurant run
by the Trombetti family from 1950 to 1972, has maintained the glamour and atmosphere
of the time. Moreover it is the perfect venue for any kind of event: weddings,
ceremonies and meetings that can also be arranged in the swimming pool area (maximum
capacity 420 persons) or the Orangerie, a sheltered terrace overlooking the fountains
of the park, ideal for intimate dinners.
The final result is excellent, the guest of the Savoia Hotel Regency feels surrounded
by an atmosphere from another time, as if living in a dream, in a unique setting
rich in vegetation, comfortable and dynamic, easy to reach and plenty of parking
place. Last but of course not least, the certainty of an impeccable service.
